That’s why we’re proud to offer Subtle Earth Organic coffee beans, an exceptional Honduran coffee from the Marcala region grown using only natural, traditional methods and free from chemical inputs. This coffee is produced using a holistic method that promotes a vibrant taste while being kind to the land. The artisan farmers compost cascara, the fruit of the coffee bean, to make a natural fertilizer, combining it with age-old vermiculture techniques to produce a nutrient-rich fertilizer that promotes a full-flavored bean. Because this coffee is grown at high altitude, insects are less of a problem and no insecticides are used. If bugs ever do cause trouble, the farmers will plant peppers as a natural repellent, eliminating the need for harsh chemicals.

As for the coffee itself, you’ll find a rich world of flavor in every cup. It features a bold, full body with a deep, rich dark chocolate flavor, and notes of smooth milk chocolate, sweet honey, caramel, and cocoa shine throughout. The highly dense beans give the coffee a “depth of flavor,” allowing our artisanal roasting process to bring out the perfect tasting notes for a smooth, low-acid coffee. This is a coffee that will surprise you again and again with its vibrant taste – and because it’s grown according to the strictest organic standards, you know you’re doing right by the land, as well.

Full body with a deep, rich, chocolaty flavor; a clean finish and low acidity. Smooth milk chocolate with notes of honey, caramel and cocoa. 100% Arabica, Non GMO, Certified Organic by CCOF.

The slight caramelization of the natural sugars in the bean give this coffee a touch of roastiness, while it still retains its natural flavor character, giving it a sweet, pleasant aftertaste.

Subtle Earth Organic is an exceptional Honduran coffee from the Marcala region. No chemical inputs are used. The “cherries (fruit of the coffee bean),” are composted and used as fertilizer, along with vermiculture, and fewer insects are present at the altitude that it’s grown, so no insecticides are necessary. If there ever is a bug problem, farmers sometimes plant peppers as a repellent.

This high altitude coffee is very dense, and thus has “depth of flavor” and we are able to roast it just right to bring out its natural flavor characteristics and a wonderful sweetness.
